How it works
- Drop your images or a folder. HEIC, AVIF, WebP, PNG, JPG and BMP are accepted.
- Choose JPG, PNG or WebP, and a quality level where it applies.
- Apply it and download a file or a ZIP that keeps your folder structure.
Which format to choose
JPG opens everywhere and suits photos. PNG is lossless and keeps transparency, which suits graphics and screenshots, but its photo files are large. WebP gives smaller files than JPG at similar quality and is supported by current browsers, though some older software and upload forms refuse it.
Mixed folders are fine
A folder can hold several source formats at once. Everything comes out in the format you choose, with the same file names and the same sub-folders, so a mixed archive becomes consistent in one pass.
What about transparency?
JPG does not support transparency, so transparent areas are flattened on white. PNG and WebP keep them.
Questions
Can I convert a whole folder?
Yes. Drop several files or a whole folder. Sub-folders are kept in the output. Free batches hold up to 10 images.
Why did I get a PNG when I asked for WebP?
Safari can read WebP but cannot create it. In that case the browser writes a PNG, and the file is named accordingly. Chrome, Edge and Firefox can write WebP.
Is camera metadata kept?
No. Converted files do not include EXIF data such as the GPS position or camera model.
Are my images uploaded?
No. The image is decoded and processed by your browser, on your device. FolderPix has no upload endpoint at all, and the site tells browsers to refuse connections to other servers. You can check it in the Network tab of your browser’s developer tools, or by going offline once the page has loaded.
