How it works

  1. Drop your PNG files or a folder.
  2. JPG is already selected. Adjust the quality and watch the file size.
  3. Apply it and download a JPG, or a ZIP for several images.

When converting to JPG makes sense

PNG keeps every pixel exactly, which makes photos very heavy. For photographs, JPG is often several times smaller with no visible difference, which suits email, forms and websites.

When to keep your PNG

Text, logos and flat illustrations can show faint halos in JPG, because the format is designed for photos. Files with a transparent background should stay PNG too, since JPG turns transparency white.

Need an exact size?

If a form asks for a limit such as 200 KB, the compression tool finds the highest quality that fits, and it saves PNG files as JPG along the way.

Questions

What happens to the transparent background?

It becomes white, because JPG does not support transparency. Convert to WebP instead if you want a light file that keeps it.

Which quality should I use?

The default of 90 suits most photos. Text and screenshots may need more, and 75 is often enough for the web.

Can I convert many PNG files at once?

Yes. Drop several files or a whole folder. Sub-folders are kept in the output. Free batches hold up to 10 images.

Are my images uploaded?

No. The image is decoded and processed by your browser, on your device. FolderPix has no upload endpoint at all, and the site tells browsers to refuse connections to other servers. You can check it in the Network tab of your browser’s developer tools, or by going offline once the page has loaded.
